What it is
A free practice tool for the Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check (MTC). It is the statutory assessment every Year 4 pupil in England takes in June.
The format mirrors the official check: 25 questions drawn from the 2 to 12 times tables, 6 seconds per question. When the test ends, the score appears on screen for the teacher or parent to record.
What it isn't
It is not the official government test. That is delivered through the Standards and Testing Agency platform. This is practice, run entirely in the browser.
Why it exists
Most free practice tools are wrapped in games, points, ads or accounts. None of that helps a child get faster at their times tables. Most of it is designed to keep children on a screen. This tool does one thing and stops.

Frequently asked
Is anything saved or tracked?
No. No accounts, no cookies, no analytics, no third-party scripts. Scores live on the screen until you close the tab.
Does it work on iPads and Chromebooks?
Yes. It runs in any modern browser.
Can a child practise specific tables?
Yes. On the home page, untick the tables already known and start the test. The questions will only come from the tables you keep ticked.
Does it cost anything?
No. The tool is free for any school, family or child to use, with no upsell, no premium tier and no plans to add either.
Who built it?
An independent project, built without commercial backing or sponsorship.

Accessibility
This tool is built so every child can use it, including those with disabilities and additional needs. It aims to meet WCAG 2.1 AA.
- Full keyboard control, with no mouse needed.
- Works with screen readers, using clear labels and spoken updates for each question.
- An on-screen number pad, so a child can answer without typing.
- Strong colour contrast, with support for high-contrast and dark modes.
- Respects the reduced-motion setting, so animations are removed when asked.
- Large touch targets for smaller hands and motor differences.
- No pressure to read the research fact. The test starts when the child is ready.
- Runs on any modern browser, including iPads and Chromebooks.
