Our aim
This tool is built so every child can use it, including those with disabilities and additional needs. It aims to meet WCAG 2.1 AA, the accessibility standard used across UK education and the public sector.
How accessible this tool is
We believe the tool meets WCAG 2.1 AA. In practice that means:
- Full keyboard control, with no mouse needed.
- Works with screen readers, using clear labels and spoken updates for each question.
- An on-screen number pad, so a child can answer without typing.
- Strong colour contrast, with support for high-contrast and dark modes.
- Respects the reduced-motion setting, so animations are removed when asked.
- Large touch targets for smaller hands and motor differences.
- No time pressure to read the research fact. The test starts when the child is ready.
- Text resizes cleanly and the layout works on phones, iPads and Chromebooks.
How we test
We test with automated tools such as axe, together with manual keyboard and screen reader checks. The tool uses no cookies, no tracking and no third-party scripts, so there is nothing extra for assistive technology to work around.

About this statement
This is an independent tool, provided free for schools and families. It is not a public sector website, so the formal public sector reporting route does not apply. We still take accessibility seriously and welcome any report.
